Making Peace

All these second-class sirens
Wrap the buildings
With weeping ribbons
Of music
As I lay within
My late-night hours
Of meandering traffic
Watching whores and dealers
Make peace
With a hell bound God
Right here
In the streets
Of modern wealth

Too Much Into Ash

There’s less time
But more hands
On these loose keys
Too many people
Want to be heard
In the moment.
I haven’t the time
Nor the inclination.
Instead I burn it
To the ground
All the sweet answers
All the great questions
I destroy
Because sometimes
Stories are best left
Silent
